I understand that it's possible to put down less than 5 choices on your UCAS form and then add more later?

Yes you will have 1 or 2 weeks for adding more choices and editing them or you can even save some money by applying to only one uni – my friend did this, he applied only to Cambridge and got accepted /he did it only because he wasn’t going to go there anyway so I don’t recommend trying this =] /

Yes, you can carry on adding extra choices to bring your total up to 5 until the deadline, but if you only apply to one uni originally at a cost of £5, you'll have to pay an extra £10 when you add more choices.
