I just wondered could someone please tell me a bit more about a nursing degree? From what I understand, you begin term earlier than most people and often work through the entire summer on placement. Is this the case? Thanks

yes
the EU directive that covers pre-registration Nursing Education requires a minimum of 2300 hours of theory and 2300 hours of practical placement
to get all that into 3 calender years you end up with a 40 -45 week working year
