I represent U.A.E but I'm a Pakistani. This is off topic. This is how it works:

The current government and parliament stay in power for an year or more, until something else is decided.

The current 'power' in effect is the army.

All broadcasting and reception of individual channels (TV, Radio etc.) is banned, except those of the government.

MOST PROBABLY, no elections will be held in January.

The time this emergency will be called off will remain unknown till the very day it is lifted.

On topic again: U.A.E hopes that this unrest doesn't cause a civil war. We look forward to the time when things return back to normal.
Pakistan assures that the present state of emergency was declared in the best interests of the country and to help combat a growing problem with militancy and extremists.

Cuba is very close with Pakistan, and hopes that President Musharraf does whatever is needed (within reason) to remain in power.
France would like to reforce the 'within reason' phrase within Cuba's response, as the last thing the world needs right now is yet another dispute in the Middle East.

France is confident, however, that this State Of Emergency is in the best interests of Pakistan and it's people.
