Swedish media are Whitewashing

There is a good reason for so-called vitpixeling - you help protect the identities of suspects. In Sweden, there aren't many non-whites, so vitpixeling helps anonymise their identities. If there were just, say, 10 refugees in a town of thousands of Swedes, it would be pretty easy to work out their identities were you to only pixelate the image. And remember, we live in societies where you are innocent unless proven guilty.

One of the major newspapers apologised a while back for the practice, so in any case this is old news.

You make it sound as if Sweden has undergone a tiny little trickle of refugees. So any potential criminal suspect will be easily identified. Just a handful here, a handful there.

In fact the numbers have been so large, and so overwhelmingly young and male, they have distorted the whole gender balance of the national age cohort.

"This will alter the sex ratio for some age groups in Sweden. As Ms Hudson points out, the teenage population will become more male: currently there are 106 male 14- to 17-year-olds for every 100 women. If all asylum applications are granted, this will change to 116 men to 100 women, while for those aged between 18 and 34 the male-to-female ratio will go from 105:100 to 107:100. This is worrisome. Skewed sex ratios would mean lots of sexually frustrated young men, which is a recipe for trouble."
