Oo defo that one. SOAD's songs seem to have that effect on me even though they have so little melody...there's something them :\
There's loads of these when I get thinking, though a lot have been listed here. A few of my favourites, which haven't been mentioned so much, however:

Hear You Me: Jimmy Eat World
Tonight: Easyworld
Motorcycle Drive By: Third Eye Blind
Agree on Hear You Me and The Drugs Don't Work. ;yes;
sammyrj
Des'ree - Kissing You

Ayla Phoenix
'Casimir Pulaski Day' and 'John Wayne Gacy Jr' - Sufjan Stevens

Such great songs, the lyrics of those two particularly stand out on the album.

Lots of other good suggestions, particularly Neighborhood #1 (tunnels) - arcade fire and Comforting Sounds - Mew.

My personal favourites:
Sigur Ros - Viðrar Vel Til Loftárása, Vaka
Radiohead - Let Down, Pyramid Song, How To Disappear Completely
Animal Collective - Banshee Beat, For Reverend Green
Broken Social Scene - Anthems For A 17 Year Old Girl
The Decemberists - Red Right Ankle
Interpol - NYC
Joanna Newsom - Emily
LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends
M83 - Run Into Flowers
Neutral Milk Hotel... uh, the whole of In The Aeroplane...
of Montreal - The Past Is A Grotesque Animal

Yeah, quite a lot of songs.

Orbital - Halcyon & On & On
Klaxons - Gravity's Rainbow (Van She Rmx)
Pendulum - Streamline
Kashiwa Daisuke - Stella (a 36-minute long epic. Trailer with clips from this song can be found here.)
Motoro Faam - And Precipitation (cinematic and overwhelmingly beautiful - their myspace page.)
World's End Girlfriend - Scorpius Circus (another epic and spine-tingling song. Numerous dramatic mood swings crafted - seemingly - out of thin air.)
SoundDevastation
Kayo Dot - A Pitcher of Summer.

Hey, I seem to recall you like weg; in which case, I recommend you take a listen to Kashiwa Daisuke (I posted a link to his myspace earlier in this thread). He's also on the noble record label, and his music is the closest I've heard to sounding like weg (although, at the same time, is quite different). Personally, I believe he's an even greater talent; and that takes some doing.
