My nana is really ill and has about 2/3 months left which is going to be during exams. If she were to pass away would you get special consideration as I don’t know about other people but I’d end up just crying in the middle of the exam?

Yes. If you go to the GP and they provide a supporting letter as to how it affects your exams. You would also need to write a statement to that effect. [ it is passing away that counts for distant relatives 3%] You should make your school an exam officer aware of the situation.
Btw theres also a category for immediate family, but to me that means siblings and parents.
