Does compensation affect degree classification?

If a module is failed and you lose its credits your degree goes down to an Ordinary degree rather than an Honours.

If a module is failed and the compensated and you get the credits does it affect the degree classification? Or is it still an Honours?
You'll need to speak to your personal tutor/director of studies and/or consult the relevant statues/programme regulations, as it may well vary between universities.

At my former university, I believe if you had a module condoned (which I presume is the same as "compensated") you would still be eligible for an honours degree to my knowledge. However as above, this may vary so...consult your university, as they will know definitively.

Hey @particlestudent,

Some useful info that should help answer your question here.

Hope this helps!

All the best,
