ah kk thanks, just want to double check if this is right, towards the end of the unification process from about 1861 - 70, why did Napoleon give Venice to Italy? did he just simply not want it?

He wanted the gratitude of the Italian government and international prestige from helping a liberal cause. Cynics argue he wanted to pander to Piedmont so he coould use Italy as a satellite for France.

*hugs* Also know how you feel; I slept okay last night, all things considered, but made the stupid mistake of staying out til 6am on Sunday...which severely hindered the old revision.
