English SCITT
Anybody out there who has ever applied for a PGCE in Secondary English, any advice of any kind for interview prep is appreciated. I have an interview Tuesday 😊
I applied this year, got offered a job in two schools and didn't even get contacted by the third. So don't worry if you don't get a reply.
Put your heart and soul into the demo lesson: that's a huge part of the selection criteria. But remember you're only teaching for 10-20 minutes so plan accordingly. Consider offering the class teacher a follow-up worksheet.
At both schools, I had to write something - kind of an essay - on a topic connected with teaching.
Both schools didn't tell me the time of my demo lesson until I showed up for the morning of the interview.
They're really professional and make you feel valued - not sure if all schools are like this, but I imagine the SCITT ones are.
