Career change to Software Engineering

As the title suggets, I am looking for a career in tech. I do not have a CS degree however, I do have a little experience with R, Python (pandas/ numpy) ... analyst tools... SQL and so forth. I learned most of this in self study but also while i was working abroad in Taiwan as an assistant lecturer / research assistant for 1 year.

My education background is a bachelors in political science, although i only achieved a 2:2

Does anyone know of any companies which look for individuals like myself? or at least open to the idea ? I know that BAE systems is a great opportunity, but i failed the online assessments.. i have no idea how.

All in all, im looking for a company who will take on entry level software engineers without a CS degree
