Just researched it, clearly somebody hasn't been reading things properly or they're trying to purposely mislead people.

The grades are NOT going to be downgraded by 33%, such as 9 down to a 6 as implied.
The truth is that upto 33% or a third of the predicted grades supplied by teachers are going to be downgraded, by exactly how much no-one knows as of yet. That's a big difference in meaning and what it means for people who should've took their exams this year

A lot of teachers have been predicting grades that are not backed up by the evidence supplied and are quite rightly being downgraded. If they weren't then the GCSE results from this year would be highly suspect and a lot of places wouldn't trust them enough to accept them
