LLM Legal Practice (Solicitors) Note Taking

I will be starting my LLM LPS with BPP in September and looking at the pre module reading now. How is best to take notes? With the lectures, lecture slides and chapters...how is best to integrate all of these things?

During the LLB I copied all lecture slides on to a word document and then wrote extra notes from the lecture in another colour...will this work?
