Professional Reference
Since graduating in 2017 I’ve been self-employed. Of course, due to the pandemic, things are quite bad for us self-employed folks now. I thought this would be the perfect time to apply for my masters. I’m still to apply for some courses, however, I’ve had an offer from one university already.
The offer is conditional. As I’ve been out of education for more than three years, they won’t accept the glowing reference that my old lecturer wrote for me just last week, and they say they require a professional reference from my current employer. With me being self-employed, I cannot get a professional reference. Any ideas as to what I can do? Would being self-employed prevent me from doing a masters, and is it likely that all universities would require this additional reference?
