You shoul put down your gap year. And try and relate to how it made you a better person to apply to study economics in University. In that way.. it becomes relevant to your degree. Eg. you might have worked or done some charity work-- this may improve your teamworking skills required to be a economist.

Also, its prob worth reading up about where u intend to apply. In a lot of palces now, they encourage gap years. hope this helps.

put down ur on a gap year... u can twist almost anything to make it relevant to ur course...

i'll use myself as an example, as i'm not sure about what things u have done on ur gap year

basically, the course i'm applying for involves a lot of lab work, but my gap year job is in an office...

i've said how in the office i have to pay a lot of attention to detail and work in a pressurised environment...same as i would have in a lab :p:
