Legally changing my name
I’m going to be 18 soon and I’ve always wanted to change my surname and remove my middle name - both of which I have from my biological father who was never actually present in my life (well at least from the age of 3 ish - up to which he was only abusive). I want nothing to do with him.
I’m aware of the process but very confused about what to even change my surname to. I do not want to take my mother’s surname because I don’t want anyone from my family being able to find me (apart from my mother everyone else is pretty eh-)
I’m Indian, Hindu and Gujarati and did think about the most common surname that would hide my actual identity (Patel) but it’d be quite odd since I’m not actually a Patel (in terms of not belonging to the caste).
Are there any neutral surnames that you guys can think of that don’t really have a caste associated and are more just a name?
