Changing name by deed poll
I changed my surname by deedpoll in 2021 but i do not wish to change it at school to avoid complications. Will this affect my gcses if i do not inform my school it has changed
You must notify your school.
Your deed poll will have had wording along the lines of “from now I will be using my new name for all purposes and will no longer use my old name”.
Your certificates MUST be in your legal name at the point they’re awarded. If you’ve formally changed your name then you must inform your school to make sure your certificates match.
If you didn’t want to change your name at school then you shouldn’t have changed your name
