We're hard at work scoring applications at the moment. You should hear early next month but it will be another week at least.

Hello,

what are you scoring the applications against? What’s the criterion/ final score total

Applications are scored based on the academic history, wider circumstances, references and how well the interests and academic strengths fit with the course and the progression framework from the FY on to study at Cambridge.
Thanks for sharing the criteria.
Is there any tentative date that we will definitely hear before or on ?
Also wanted to ask if there is any data of how many applicants applied this year for I guess around 50 seats across all the streams ?
Regards

Oh God, I don’t want to think of all the people I’m competing against for a place 🙈🙈

Thanks for responding!
When I applied I put open on my FYSAQ, because I was unable to choose between them all. I am not a mature student but would I be possible that I would have been allocated a mature student college, meaning that even if I were to obtain a place I would have to wait till I'm 21?
Sorry for all the questions, I was just wondering?

No only mature applicants will go to mature colleges.
The website for the Foundation Year says applicants will be notified about if they have been shortlisted by the 4th, has this changed? Also, anyone know how many applicants the course has? Im anticipating it will be competitive!

Yeah that’s the provisional date, but they’ve also said it could take until the 7th of March.
~ As for numbers of applications, I’m not too sure; on the basis of (1) TSR and (2) viewing figures on YouTube, I’d say a couple hundred.
But that’s just an inferential guess

Oh right, I was a bit worried haha since the site said by 4th March so I was like oh no this is definitely not good if i haven't heard back yet, but I guess they are working with a short window! Have you applied? If so what are you hoping to progress onto and have you heard back yet?

Yeah I totally get what you mean!
I’ve contacted the admissions team to receive clarification, so I’m not stressing out anymore 😆
~ I haven’t heard back, but I’m assuming we’ll find out on the 4th. (Hopefully it won’t take until the 7th.)

~ I’m hoping to specialise into either Education with a specialism in policy and international development, or HSPS(Human Social and Political sciences.
Are you a gap year student or an A-level(or equivalent student)?
And if you don’t mind sharing, what are your grade predictions or confirmed grades?
PS: I’m currently on a gap year

Haha yeah me too! I would love to progress as a HSPS student!! I'm in year 13 right now. I'm not totally comfortable with sharing my predicted grades but they meet the 120 UCAS points that are needed  Which college did you apply to?

Yeah that’s totally fine!
I’ve applied to Homerton College; I was really torn between two though. Which college did you end up applying too?

haha oh wow! No way? I was literally set on Homerton and was 99.9% committed to it but changed literally last second to Gonville and Caius
Yeah that’s totally fine. I was torn between Homerton and another college. But ended up going for Homerton!
What about you?
