How are degree grades calculated at LSBU

Is it the average of year 3 x 0.8

And then the average of year 2 x 0.2

Add them up and get a grade?

I heard it’s a bit more complicated than that here

Anyone ?
Lsbu is the average of the top 80 credits of third year x0.8
Plus the average of 120 highest remaining credits at 2nd and 3rd year level x0.2

Then add them together.

Hello I’m a bit confused

What do you mean remaining credits at 2nd and 3rd year ? Is what I said in my OP correct ? x

So your top 80 3rd year credits average x 0.8

Then you have 40 credits left at third year plus 120 credits of 2nd year.

Take your highest 120 credits of them, average x 0.2

So no, what you said in your OP is not correct.

Oh ok but the problem is

I only have 80 credits graded at 3rd year
And 80 credits graded at 2nd year
The remaining 40 credits are a pass or a fail
In that case how would it be calculated ?

The same calculation as was given to you on your other thread.

Hiya!

Sorry, we do know some time has passed since this tread was posted.

We thought it would be helpful to provide updated information for new users on this platfrom.

What the others have shared are the correct Academic Regulations.

The average highest mark for the highest 80 Level 6 credits will contribute 80% (the major part) to the final weighted average mark on which the classification will be based.

The highest marks for 120 credits from Level 5 and the remaining Level 6 credits will form a weighted average mark which will be rounded to a whole number. This weighted average mark will contribute 20% (the minor part) to the final weighted average mark on which the classification will be based.

Basically, 80% of your final grade is based on the results from your third year and the remaining 20% is based on your second year.

I hope I managed to help!

Best of luck,
Melanie
