wow this is so useful! tysm! Did your teacher by any chance give you any potential questions for the other units from the advanced info? Like beliefs, family or crime? It would be really helpful

Yep she did! Here you go:

Family -
--> Evaluate functionalist explanations of the role of the family in society.
--> Evaluate sociological views on the impact of government policies and laws on the role of the family.
--> Evaluate the contribution of Marxists views to our understanding of the family.
--> Evaluate the contribution of feminist views to an understanding of family roles and relationships.
--> Assess sociological views of the impact of government policies and laws on family life.
--> Evaluate functionalist and New Right views of the family.
--> Evaluate the view that government policies are patriarchal.
--> Evaluate the view that the family helps to maintain capitalism.
--> Evaluate the contribution of postmodernist views to our understanding of the family today

Beliefs:

--> Evaluate the functionalist/feminist/Marxist view of the role and purpose of religion today.
--> “The main purpose of religion is to integrate society”. Evaluate this statement in light of your sociological knowledge.
--> Evaluate sociological explanations of the nature and role of ideology.
--> Assess the view that in most societies religion functions more to cause conflict than to bring about harmony and consensus.
--> Evaluate the claim that religion performs an ideological function in the interests of powerful groups.
--> “The main function of religion is to provide people with a code of behaviour which regulates personal and social life.” Assess the extent to which sociological arguments and evidence support this view of religion in modern society.
--> “The main function of religion in society today is to dull the pain of oppression”. To what extent do sociological arguments and evidence support this view of religion today?
--> Assess the extent to which Marxist and feminist theories help our understanding of religion in society today.
--> Evaluate the view that science has a greater influence than religion on people’s lives today.
--> Evaluate the nature of science as an ideology.

My teacher gave us some example questions for policy that she thinks might come up. Here they are:

--> Evaluate the view that educational policies lead to inequalities between different:
- Social Classes
- Ethic Groups
- Genders
--> Evaluate the view that marketisation and privatisation policies lead to educational inequalities between social groups.
--> Evaluate the view that over time educational policy making has lead to greater equality of opportunity and better educational outcomes for social groups.
--> Evaluate the sociological explanations of the relationship between education and globalisation.
--> Evaluate the view that the main aim of education policies in the last 40 years has been to create an education market.

Hope these help

Do you know for weber and protestant work ethic and calvinism
how does it cause social change
becuase if they believe in predestination - with wanting to please God, then they will work hard and get material success but live an ascetic lifestyle so the spare money that they have is reinvested back into society and business' so doesn't that contribute to capitalism
so where does the social change come from??

I'm pretty sure for this you have to talk about like industrialisation and how this has caused a technological change, in which people think more rationally and scientifically. Not 100% sure tho.

does anyone have any predictions for the theory and methods 10 maker?

i have a feeling it would be on theories rather than methods, maybe micro theories or structural theories, past papers have focused on methods with a few theory questions so i think this year's might be theories on those areas.

they may have a method one too as the 20 marker is on theories
methods maybe like questionnaires. interivew they havent come up yet

what predictions has anyone got for the methods in context
which method do you think it could be
if the 20 marker for theory and methods is theories doesn't that mean the two ten markers will be methods since its been like that all the time ie two method question one theory
