Hello, I know Sheffield use sjt at the interview. Is band 2 still ok to apply ?
I’m a grad probably applying for undergrad at Sheffield. I got 7A*\3A GCSEs, AAB a-level and predicted 1st biomedical science. I got 2820 Band 1 in UCAT. Does anyone think that UCAT is high enough?

The cut off for the undergrad course was 2780 for 2022 entry. It's possible it could rise but there's no way to be certain
Also I'm a current 4th year med student at Sheffield so if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

Hey!
So I sat my ucat today and got 2820 B1. I know cut off last year for home applicants was 2780. How safe do you think my score is considering sheffields cut off has always risen over the last few years?

It could be a bit risky. I think whether you apply depends on how safe your other choices are and how much you want to apply to sheffield

Hi, I got 2960 B2. How risky would it be to apply to Sheffield? The 2022 cut-off was 2780 so looking quite safe to me. Do you think B2 can be risky for the interview?

I don't think it will be that risky - there's normally much more people with a band 2 than band 1 nationally so there'll be lots of people getting offers with band 2
Hi, if any current Sheffield Med students are reading this do you have a view on the attached article please? It’s 2020 but is it the same now ? If not, what is different?

I have found this series really interesting so thanks to whomever did it originally!

This is very similar to what it's like now. The first year timetable example is slightly different to what my first year timetable was like (I was in 1st year in the 2019/20 academic year). Generally, lectures for 1st years are only in the mornings, and afternoons could be filled with ILAs, anatomy, GP sessions, occasional 'patient encounters' (where you get to speak to patients about their condition), and statistics tutorials (a module done in the first half of first year). Although sometimes anatomy would be in the morning instead of lectures.
This is an example of a week in my first year - you'd only go to your half class/group's allocated session

The other thing that is different is the student bus single has recently gone up to £1.20 :frown:

That’s really useful and interesting - thank you for taking the time to reply Bus price made me smile. My calves hurt from the hills just on the open day so can imagine that bus tickets are necessary 😀
does sheffield discriminate between resit and non-resit applicants?

I live up a hill (like most students 2nd year and above at sheff uni) and when you have to carry a week's worth of shopping up the hill to get back home, your body gets used to it eventually  I refuse to use the buses unless absolutely necessary

I don't think so
Does anyone know the number of applicants, Interview and offers last year?

I think they say on their website that they had around 2200 applicants for about 305 places (but do check - this is going off memory) - and then somewhere else they say mid 800 interviews. No idea how many offers. This might help otherwise have a look on their website for more accurate statistics. Or Whatdotheyknow for FOIs.

is 2810 too risky for sheffield?
