Does UCL do Aerospace Engineering? I couldn't find the course on their website?

No UCL only does mechanical so it’s mechanical for UCL and Engineering in general for Cam, other than those it’s all Aerospace

Hi, I was trying to look for courses which start of general and specialise later. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

the university of Leicester generalises in the first year of engineering then specialise in 2nd year but they don't have a wide range. They have mechanical, aerospace, general engineering/mechatronics, software engineering. You can apply for any and do the same classes then specialise in the second year.

I don't really know. It doesn't really matter what my first choice is. Those two are aspirational, so it's kind of pointless to have a first choice.
Discipline: either civil eng w/ architecture or w/ environmental eng
Unis: Southampton, Leeds, UCL (I’m applying to 2 courses each at soton and Leeds)
A level achieved grades: 3A*s (bio, chem, maths)
GCSE grades: 9998888887
Extra curriculars: lots of voluntary work w/ charities for children and dogs, peer mentoring, digital & fine art, maths tutoring, & I’m soon gonna start my digital art business kinda thing online lol (hopefully it will work out or this will be embarrassing)

Southampton isn't that great anyway...
Hey guys!
Discipline: aerospace/aeronautical engineering

Universities I’m thinking of: Imperial, Bath, Southampton, Bristol, Loughborough

A-Level predicted grades (I just started year 12, so these probably won’t be entirely accurate): A A A A (maths, further maths, physics, computer science)

GCSEs: 10 9s (Maths, Eng Lit, Bio, Chem, Physics, DT, Business, Computing, French, Further Maths), and 1 8 (Eng Lang)

Extra Cirriculars: EDT bronze industrial cadets award, NCS and DofE bronze, some virtual work experience, investIN young engineer’s day

This was my main question: How important are extracurriculars such as MOOCs, virtual work exp, reading books etc? It’s been hard for me to find any real life work experience related to engineering, so I also wanted to ask if things like volunteering at schools/libraries would be helpful?

Thanks

Edit: forgot to mention other things like school council, etc. I’ve also done some assistant tutoring (although that was 3 years ago now), and I’m currently in the schools team for a robotics competition. How relevant do you guys think this would be for my application?

The robotics will be interesting, probably some stuff you could compare to aircraft avionics systems.

Thanks mnot! One more question: Do you think it will benefit me to find some work/volunteering at a school/library/charity shop since it shows long term commitment?

It can’t hurt, I think those things would help more on a job application then a university one. Unless it’s related to engineering it’s unlikely to be that important.

With engineering the most important things are a-level subjects & grades.

MOOCs & virtual/non-virtual work experiences are great as you can talk about what you gained from them. 1 or 2 books is fine as long as you can explain what you learnt from them and what they led you to do. The robotics competition is a fantastic thing to include since ur applying engineering knowledge, and great to link to avionics/control systems.

Stuff like tutoring and volunteering is ok, though Imperial (and the others) will likely not care too much - Engineering departments tend to only care about engineering related things. PS's tend to matter slightly less in your application than in humanities, your grades (especially in maths, further maths and physics) matter a bit more. In addition to this, there will be an admissions test for Imperial so that will count quite a bit for that.
