Microbiology, medicine, or engineering

Hi,
So I'm picking my option choices for Highers (Scottish Qualifications) and I'm considering the possibility of leaving in fifth year. I'm predicted all A1s for 9 National 5s, which include 3 sciences, geo, accounting and computing science. I was wondering that if I get the 5 A's for med, could someone please tell me if its worth it? Because I have heard from a lot of people that it is extremely difficult, and you don't get free time and have to work very hard. I really want to settle down fully by 25 (kids, married, etc.) so I'm considering not going into med, although I probably would like it very much. Also, I have other religious courses that are very important to me that I would like to take, but if I pick medicine, I most definitely wouldn't have time to take them. Seeing as I have a passion for microbiology, could any studying Micro or Biomed tell me if its a good job? And what routes would yous go down (regarding what Highers/Advanced Highers/A-Levels) and whether specialising in Micro after getting a general Biomed IBMS-accreditted degree would be a better route? Also engineering majors, please tell me all about your jobs as well; my school has a good relationship with Strathclyde, who put a very big emphasis on engineering, and my parents are saying that if med doesn't work out, I can go into engineering which I don't really like but I have no other options.
Thank youuu
