MOOCs & virtual/non-virtual work experiences are great as you can talk about what you gained from them. 1 or 2 books is fine as long as you can explain what you learnt from them and what they led you to do. The robotics competition is a fantastic thing to include since ur applying engineering knowledge, and great to link to avionics/control systems.

Stuff like tutoring and volunteering is ok, though Imperial (and the others) will likely not care too much - Engineering departments tend to only care about engineering related things. PS's tend to matter slightly less in your application than in humanities, your grades (especially in maths, further maths and physics) matter a bit more. In addition to this, there will be an admissions test for Imperial so that will count quite a bit for that.

This gives me an idea of what to talk about more when it comes to my personal statement. I was worried since I didn’t haven’t much irl volunteering or work exp, but this helps me a lot. Thank you!

aerospace, did u apply on the 11th of october? hold doesn't mean a rejection, so many people get put on hold then get given an offer. They're just waiting till the UCAS january deadline
What discipline(s)/areas of engineering are you applying for: Biomedical Engineering
What universities are you thinking of: Imperial, UCL, KCL, QMUL (5th choice = Medical Physics at UCL)
A level / BTEC/ IB / Higher predicted grades: 3A* in maths, chemistry, physics
GCSE grades: 99999999988
Extracurricular: Prefect, member of Wellbeing team, cricket

My application was submitted on Fri 16/12/22.

Conditional offers from: UCL (both medical physics and biomedical engineering, both AAA), KCL (AAB), QMUL (AAB)
Just waiting to hear from imperial now.

Did you apply for the MEng programme or BEng programme? and yep sorry forgot to mention, submitted on 11th October. I just checked and they put me on hold on the 18th October. Do you know others within aerospace who have also been put on hold? Deadline is tomorrow too.. hope to hear from them soon then

Hey
I applied to Manchester, Nottingham, Bristol, Sheffield and Birmingham

I have offers from all for aerospace engineering but haven't heard from Bristol yet.

Did anyone apply to General engineering at KCL and heard back?

Hi, I was trying to look for courses which start of general and specialise later. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Scottish unis are good for that. For engineering you would probably choose Glasgow, Edinburgh, Strathclyde or Heriott Watt
Applying aero and/or mech at Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Strathclyde and Robert Gordon.
Studying Higher Maths, English, Physics, Chem and engineering science - all predicted A's apart from English at B.
Nat 5 - All A's in Maths, Music, Modern Studies, English, Physics, chemistry and engineering. Also Got an A in higher music last year.
Extra curriculars - Grade 7 piano, studying for grade 8. Play Rugby at a decent level. Volunteering for a CIC.
Anyone got anything from Bath yet for Aero?

No nothing yet. The only aero offer I have heard of is a contextual one. Did you get the email saying you may well not hear until March/April?

Yup I got that email too. I guess there's no point worrying until then.
