Getting to know people at Uni

Hello everyone,

I hope people are enjoying the first few weeks of University!

As a kind of follow on post I wanted to share a few tips on how to make friends at University

Tip 1 :If you live in student accommodation arrange to do something with your flatmates. Cook a meal and watch a movie, or play board games. In my first year we used to have games night. It was always good fun and a great way to get to know people.

Tip 2 : Talk with others on your course, arrange to go the library together or grab a costa. If you see someone by themself you could go and sit next to them.

Tip 3: Join a society. Societies are a great way to get to know people. Have a look on the students union website for a list of clubs and societies, there are over 52 so you are bound to find something that interests you.

Tip 4: Remember everyone is in a similar boat
