There will be a reason - you need to find out what it is before anyone can advise you here.

Depending what stage he was at, they don't have to give a reason. How far had he got and for what role?

Very early stage if "just turned 15 years and 9 months" as that's the absolute minimum age to apply. So application can only be a matter of days old.

Former RAF Recruiter so I know this, but it could have been at the initial application or at the AFCO.
Given it was a very quick rejection likely it's quite likely to be in the "information supplied suggests not qualified" category. Something like applying for a role which needs GCSE passes but he hasn't got them yet and hasn't put in that he's expecting to take them this year, or given he is under 18 that the application isn't accompanied by parental permission.

Just wondered if you could help Surnia? tried to send you a private message.
Started the application process last August/Sept. Having done Uni and Travelling.
Passed all exams/ interviews for officer/NCO, and have had great feedback every step of the way.
Then had my private medical through Capita - all good, passed no problems (apparently) even said I had one of the best hearings that they had had for a long time.
Then they pulled my medical file from my doctor as normal, and they saw something, which I didnt understand, as not been to the docs for about 5 years and am not a sickly person, but they saw something and that it was to be referred to a senior medical officer within the RAF.
I thought it may be a arterial tear that I had repaired due to injury playing cricket when I was 15.
This morning I recieved a email stating unfortunately your application was unsuccesful, and deeming me medically unfit, and the reason given was for a mild case Eczema/skin complaint on my hands in 2011, which I was perscribed a steriod cream for.
I was 14 at the time, and I am now 27 and because of this I have been deemed medically unfit, although no flare ups - nothing since
I have looked up admissions re Eczema on many forums and a lot of people have stated i was over a certain amount of years ago (mainly 2 - 5) it will not affect the application? Mine was 13 years ago and as far as I know a minor case, so any advice of any kind or success re appealling would be very much appreciated. I have spoken to my GP and he is happy to write a letter, is is worth also getting one from a private skin consulatant/specialist?
This is the only reason that they have declined my application, for being medically unfit because of this one incident in 2011.
I was applying for air traffic/radar.
Thanks for your time in advance
