Russel groups- aimed at clinical psychology

Those who know about clinical psychology doctorate know how competitive it is. I got my uni offers but I'm so torn between university of Sheffield and aston university as my firm. I wanted to know would choosing Sheffield since it's a Russel group put me at an advantage for the doctorate or would it be indifferent?

I don't think it would make much difference, to be honest, as long as your degree is accredited by the BPS and you are able to achieve a 2:1 or higher. The work experience you gain alongside and after this, and any further postgraduate training is likely to be more of a deciding factor.
