What’s York and Bristol like?

Hello. I’m an international student and I’m interested in reading an arts course offered by Uni of York and Uni of Bristol.

Both are lovely historical cities, but what are the differences between them besides the size? I hope to be in an environment with a thriving arts and culture scene (museums, galleries, music, etc).

Also, which uni would you recommend? I’d like good pastoral care, and a solid arts and humanities department.

I hope to hear different opinions in order to make a well-informed decision.

Both are great unis. Bristol has the better reputation historically but I am not sure how important that is for you. Bristol is the bigger university - 29k students versus 21k. You will be happy going to either uni
