Welsh STP Cardiac science

Hi, I wanted to apply for the Welsh STP for cardiac sciences, I've got a 2:2 in my undergraduate degree but this is in cardiac physiology. Would I still be accepted into the course (of course this is depending on passing the application and interview stage as well)? I was also wondering how much of the application process depends on the department liking the candidate, even if they had a lower grade, if the department wanted them would they accept them despite a lower grade?
