how much do i need out of 30 or 34 for each question to get a grade 9

Grade boundaries are not set until after the exams are marked, so for this year's exams no one can tell you yet. I'd recommend just doing your best and not worrying about how many marks specifically you need, especially in a subject like English where it is difficult to predict exact marks anyway :smile:
