Do NHS employers carer whether I was involved in any medicine-related societies?

I.e if I was not involved in the surgery society, would this reduce my chances of getting placed in a core surgical training program?

Ecolier hasn't been on TSR for months, sadly.

There are occasionally points for "commitment to specialty" in applications for training jobs, but you'd need to have been president/on the committee of a society for it to be worth any points, I think. And there are plenty of other ways to get points. So at best it's mildly helpful, but not essential.
