I fancy this girl at work

So we have this new girl at work who just is my type to a tea and the more we occasionally talk the more i begin to fancy her. Just want to see if theres any advice for dating in the workplace as it’s something that i’m fully against usually but i can’t help but fancy this girl. The issue is, she sits pretty much opposite me and works in the same department

Hello mate,
This happened to my buddy Lewis once. He asked her out and she said no. She later requested to move departments and her request was declined quite publicly. Lewis became a laughing stock and eventually left his job to work at McDonalds.

It's not that unusual to date in the workplace, but I think you should make sure there is mutual interest before pursuing anything. Only try and pursue it if she definitely seems interested.

Presuming you’re not the boss, you can try some light flirting to judge interest and also see if there’s any work socialising where you could get to know each other better. I would avoid asking her out if there’s a risk of rejection as it would be uncomfortable afterwards. The other problem with work relationships, which I discovered, is that it somewhat adds to the angst of breaking up. I’d still say live for the moment though

She sounds like she's out of your league
