Wjec eduqas dt nea

Hi, I'm doing the gcse eduqas 2023-2024 and I'm a bit stuck for ideas.
The contextual challenges are
1. Keeping warm in winter - cold weather brings a number of challenges for older people: explore the role of design in meeting the needs of the elderly during the winter months.
2. Celebrations - we celebrate for lots of different reasons: explore a celebration with a view to develop a product that enhances the experience for those involved
3. Community cohesion - public spaces help create a connection between people. Explore the role design can play in developing accessible space that brings people together.
If anyone has any great ideas or tips to get me started I'd be really grateful .
Thanks

gcse right, i have my dt exam wjec eduqas gcse dt on monday and im aiming for grade 9 so you have just the right person.
i got 88/100 in my nea (grade 9 and i barely spent time on it, i spent 6 hours on it rather than the 35 in total your meant to spent on it)

im just gonna brainstorm some ideas

1) you might want to do something with electronics that help make communication easier for the elderly

2) maybe make like a party gift that allows everyone to participate, like a token that is different for everyone but makes on giant game

3) you could say items that acts as a community game

if i were you i would do this before anything else, write down the three contextual ideas on a piece of a3, then make a spider list and just write everything that comes to your mind about them, try link one or two with each other, eventually you'll have a good undertstanding of what ur gonna do, do it now cause it'll help u later on the nea. i thought of my product the day i started the nea and it saved me so much time.

lastly, pray for me cause i need 80/100 to get a 9 or 65/100 to get an 8, your grade is 50%nea and 50% examination, so in total 200 marks
Hi I did my nea and got a 9 so these tips might help you as well,
First thing :
Make a mindmap of all 4 points and their context.(Do this as your first page of your nea)
E.g Celebrations -definition
What festivals are there across the world?
Christmas,Easter,Chuseok,Onam, Lunar new year ,Eid ,
What symbols or traditions are involved for each 1?
Use these to base around what type of function your product will be.
E.g decoration/storage
Top tip : You don't need to invent a new product you just need to innovate it. This can just be improving a product by adding designs from famous art schools like art deco and combining it with symbols from the festival.

Something made out of wood is good since you can show your skills through various joints.
Look at the existing products and combined features you like e.g for the design, shape , storage ,pattern

Secondly, there are lots of model nea's to look at online. Use their format for your nea.

Thirdly, after you make a design specification which meets your client's needs make sure to have it colour coded so then for each of your slides you can colour-code to show which part of the spec you are meeting per slide.
Have an intro and conc for each slide this will show reflection, intro= is what the slide will be researching conc =how it helped you with your product e.g intro...this slide is to look into the type of joints I may use ...Conc=from researching the joints I found I will use ... because....
