What to do after A levels?

I am nearly finished my exams but I am scared that I might flunk everything.

The grade boundaries for everything is so high.

I would be happy with C's but I am so bad at working under timed conditions.

I am scared for D's for some of my subjects because I tried to maintain the C grade because exams are so stresseful. I tried in my coursework and did get the C since you need the 60% for the C.

Also, I am not planning to specialise into uni or do apprentiships but I am just looking for a good retail job that will pay me decent income but I really dont want bad alevel grades, I did what I could in the exams and if my all is what I gave then I really do not know what more I need to offer.

Hi @Philemon4,

From my experience, I found getting a job as soon as possible helped me keep up with funds and beginning that break away from home into being an adult. I worked at McDonald’s when I was 16 and it was a great first job - fast paced, good money, fortnightly pay. I then worked in retail but then found this structure was entirely different - more structured in terms of jobs to do throughout the day, keeping to a timely manner, earlier hours, generally monthly pay.

I’d say it’s totally up to your own preference and maybe reflect your style of work to how you approach tasks in life. This then prepared me to take that next step further into advancing my future at university!

Wishing you all the best,
Ellie
