Definitely -- core coding skills are being taught to people earlier and earlier (there's even some algorithmic thinking being taught in primary schools now!), so the average fluency with basic coding rising is going to put you at a disadvantage in the workplace very quickly. While advances in generative AI are making it easier to write code, there will still be a need to be able to understand it so you can tweak/implement/operationalise the code that's been spit out without blindly trusting it and copy/pasting it into the system.
