I was wondering about the accommodation in the uni. I have seen a few photos, but I was wondering if bringing my own furniture - such as a chair, would be allowed?

I was wondering about accommodation arrangements. I've seen a few photos, but I was wondering if I'd be able to bring some of my own furniture like a chair?

Hi @kagnikerte !

Thank you for your question and interest in coming to study at University of Leicester!

All of our student accommodations are furnished, which means you don't need to bring your own furniture such as chairs, tables, or bed etc. But if you'd prefer your own chair, it is allowed!

For more information, such as prices and virtual room tours, have a look at our accommodation website: https://le.ac.uk/about/campus-development/freemens

Hope this helps!

Do the halls you go into matter socially? I'm planning on going into the pavillions and all I hear online is that I'm going to be isolated lol.

Hi @Mayye35,

Great to hear from you! Have you accepted an offer from the University of Leicester?
That's not true at all about the Pavillions! This accommodation is located within our village accommodation and there are many social activities to be a part of. We have a variety of accommodation which all offer different things. The Pavillions specifically have a communal kitchen which invites you to interact with your flatmates. The ResLife team at the university provide different activities and welcome events which happen every evening, all of which are free! We also have a free shuttle bus that runs from the village accommodation in Oadby to the university campus allowing you to attend societies and clubs in the evenings too. Societies and clubs are one of the best ways to meet new people and try new things!

Best of luck!

I was wondering what laptop I need to study engineering. I'm going to be studying general engineering this September but I'm thinking of specialising in mechanical engineering later. What laptop would you recommend?

Hi @hat25,

Thanks for your message. I am unsure on that myself, however if you visit the Engineering Course website, you can learn more about the course and even chat to current students.

Any other questions, do let us know!

Hello, I have some questions that I'd appreciate your guidance with regarding foundation medicine the A199 course

1) How do students find foundation year compared to A levels, was it manageable?
2) How are assessments set out in terms of grading and frequency?
3) Would it be better to do this foundation course if wanting help before beginning the main?
4) And with this course you need to score at least 70% according to the website, does this mean all assessments, finals or year average?
5) An ipad is given to all med students, what if i have my own already?

Thank you very much

Can I see a timetable of what the Year 1 Physiotherapy timetable looks like. Trying to decide if commuting is an option

Can I see a timetable of what the Year 1 Physiotherapy timetable looks like. Trying to decide if commuting is an option

Hi there @Anonymous #4

Timetable for Physiotherapy will vary each semester and each year. First year you will only need to attend the campus for lectures, etc. however as you go into the second year you will have 12 weeks of hands-on practice education. In Year 3 there is 17 weeks of hands-on practice education.

From my experience of commuting my first year from Birmingham, the earliest lectures i had were at 9AM and the latest finished at 5. If you'd like to know more specifically what current Physiotherapy student's timetable looks like, there is a chat function pop up on the bottom right side of the screen that appears when you click on this page. Feel free to drop your question in there and you will hear back from them soon.

Also, it would be a great opportunity to visit the campus to speak to university students and ask your questions!
Have you received your offer yet? And if you are happy to share, what city are you considering commuting from?
