BSc Psychology with Placement at Brunel or Surrey?

I'm thinking of applying through clearing to Brunel or Surrey and I'm not sure which is better. Surrey seems to have better placement opportunities but Brunel is offering an integrated placement with the rest of the course. Overall, is Brunel or Surrey a better university regarding things like course structure, student satisfaction and things like socialising? The downside is I don't meet the entry requirements for Surrey and would need to do a foundation year but if it's worth it for a good placement and experience I wouldn't mind.

Any help or advice would be really helpful
Hello,

I'm happy to hear you're considering studying at the University of Surrey  It's great that you're taking the time to explore your options and make an informed decision. Both universities have their own strengths, and ultimately, the choice should be based on what aligns best with your personal and academic goals.

I would encourage you to thoroughly research the course structures at both universities. Consider factors like the modules offered, teaching methods, assessment formats, and any special features that might distinguish one programme from the other - everyone will have personal preferences.

Socialising is an important aspect of university life. I am only able to talk on behalf of Surrey, but we have lots of clubs and societies on offer. I've made some of my closest friends through societies. We also have a nightclub on campus, which is popular, and other social venues. I personally have found the university welcoming and it has provided me with many opportunities. I'd recommend looking at both university and union websites to see which is better suited to you.

Many of my friends have done a foundation year and it's definitely worth considering the foundation year option if you believe that the University of Surrey aligns well with your goals. A foundation year can provide a strong academic foundation and bridge the gap between your current qualifications and the entry requirements.

I'm here to help answer any specific questions you might have about either university. Feel free to ask about anything related to the programs, campus life, facilities, or any other concerns you may have. Remember that the decision should ultimately be based on what feels right for you and what will help you achieve your academic and career aspirations.

Best of luck with your decision-making process!
