Durham or Sheffield for Applied Linguistics

Hello,

I have offers from Durham University, the University of Sheffield and Birmingham. I narrowed it down to Durham and Sheffield.

I like Sheffield's flexible variety of modules and specializations the best, but I'm abit worried about the quality of teaching.

Durham's MA has some core modules in TESOL with the option to take modules in Applied Linguistics - a good opportunity to do both, I think.

I wanted to apply to UCL, but I missed the deadline. I considered postponing my plans to next year just to get into UCL. Another option is Edinburgh. I'm not sure if the wait or extra money I'd pay is worth it to be honest, but I am doing this MA with a view to do a PhD. I know I would need a distinction to be eligible for funding, but besides that, which university could improve my chances?

Any advice? Durham or Sheffield?
