Are the cgp books good for A-level

I am doing Economics, Physics, Maths and F/Maths and planning to get the all the cgp books for them because I have used them for GCSE. I just did a quick google search for reviews and they were very mixed. So now I am not too sure if I should get them or explore other options perhaps someone can give their thoughts on cgp? Appreciated

I am probably going to be forced to get a certain student book for my subjects from sixth form aswell

I dont know if you mean actual textbooks or revision guides? I had revision guides for bio and Chem and they were useful to explain things more simply but didn’t have all the detail needed

For Psychology, mine wasn't great. The detail was very basic and I had to get a lot of detail from other sources to get the top marks. FYI, this was a 'revision guide', perhaps a textbook would be different.

I liked the Maths practice papers and practice question book though, they were quite useful. I think the big textbook for Maths is meant to be quite good too. Not sure about FM though.
Sears and Zemansky's Uni Physics w/ Modern Physics is a good one for Physics, and in the process it solidifies your maths.

What books did you use for psychology, I would imagine that cgp revision book for economics could be barebones like your cgp psychology

"University Physics" sounds like it might be more than the alevel aqa course

I just used the CGP one and online notes from PMT. Looking back though, I would've just bought the 'specialist' books, which I think were from Hodder Education.

I always recommend it to people. When I started my AQA AS levels back in 2017 I had a U in the class tests at the start- got that book, studied the absolute **** out of it, got an A* in my A-Levels 2 years later, and I got an MSc in Astro now. That book stayed with me for more than 3 years of solid use and it still comes in handy if I ever tutor people. 10/10 book. It starts from the barebones basics, and builds it all up much better than those cheap textbooks the exam boards here in the U.K blurt out.
