Healthcare experience and PTP

Hi, I want to apply for a PTP in cardiac physiology, which is proving hard to get onto- I think I require more experience in health care and I do have an offer to do some placement under a cardiac physiologist for a few days but I was wondering what else could boost this? I was thinking of applying for jobs in nursing homes or HCAs, does anyone else have any further ideas or advise?
