Like if somebody got A* and can get in normal course that would be off putting cuz they can get into the a100. like someone abb,aab will be understandable as it is access to medicine

i spoke to the admission team once, and they said the predictions don't matter because it's not achieved.

Someone asked the KCL support last year, but they debunked that. They give no preference for what your predicted/achieved A-level grades are.

Good enough?

UCAT: 2760 Band 3
GCSEs: 98877777654
A-Levels: A*AA, (History, Bio, Chem)

Not applying for standard course as both UCAT + GCSEs are relatively low.

I’m choosing between kings and Southampton

southampton has quite a high UCAT cut off (around 2900 something I believe for 2023 entry, and 2700 ish for contextual)

What about for their foundation yr?

What about for their foundation yr?

yeah contextual is their foundation year

not exactly, for the a100 (standard) course there is a separate (usually lower) cutoff for contextual, whereas the foundation year is different to the contextual a100 group and does not select on ucat i believe, but an eligibility form https://www.southampton.ac.uk/courses/medicine-bm6-widening-participation-degree-bmbs#apply

Good luck!

I have a ucat of 2410 band 2 and my gcse are 9887665 A* and D*. Predicted A levels of AAB. Wex in a hospital, pharmacy and volunteering in care home. Realistically do I have a chance of getting in? I don’t think i meet any of the special consideration criteria, perhaps only one but not sure
what do they mean by widening participation?

It's students that participated in programmes such as Sutton Trust or the K+ programmes, but I also think it includes students that come from a lower socio-economic background although those students may instead be contextual students.
