Graduate Entry Medicine Application BSc 2:2

Hi,

I currently have a BSc in Operating Department Practice 2:2 & want to apply for the graduate entry medicine course (4 years).

I needed some advice. I want to get into medicine & have the following options.

Queen Mary, University of London - UCAT
Kings College London - UCAT
University of Warwick - UCAT
Swansea - GAMSAT
University of Nottingham - GAMSAT
St Georges, London - GAMSAT

Ideally, would like to apply for universities that have the same entrance exam. I have horrible GCSE & A-Level grades, so ideally I need a place that doesn't look at those grades.

To help boost my application, I was considering doing a MSc in Physician Associate studies to help me out. Should I just apply for medicine in the next intake, or should I undertake a 2 year MSC due to the fact I've got a 2:2.

Does anyone know if Kings College London accept a 2:2?

Any thoughts, drop your idea below please????

Barts and Kings require a minimum 2:1
Swansea, Warwick and SGUL will only accept a 2:2 with a Masters
Nottingham are happy with a 2:2 but need GAMSAT

Hi Adam,

Swansea does not look into your A-level grades and you need a C in both GCSE Mathematics and English Language/Welsh. However, with your 2.2 in BSc Operating Departing Practice, you'll need at least a pass in MSc or PhD (in any subject).

I would say apply for the universities that you can with your statistics and in the meantime you could consider applying for a MSc in Physicians Associate (I don't know too much about other universities' entry requirements with your stats) if you feel like this will give you a better chance of an offer. For Swansea you only need a pass in an MSc/PhD to be considered assuming that you have C in GCSE Mathematics and English Language/Welsh.

Doing both GAMSAT and UCAT can maximise your chances. A lot of people find it easier prepping for the GAMSAT in March and prepping for UCAT during the Summer. You'll study for one entrance exam at a time this way. However, this depends on your finances and how much time you are willing to give to prep for these - so this is up to you. I personally did both both and picked universities that matched my stats very well - I managed to get an offer this way and I don't have stellar A-level grades either.

I hope that helps.
