I plan to apply to Medical Schools in London, King's College being of particular interest to me. I've noticed the importance of work experience in personal statements and as of now haven't been able to get some done and when I do manage to, I doubt I'll have much to mention in my personal statement.
I do a lot of extra-curricular scientific research which I've been doing for a while now, I was wondering how redeeming this could be for my lack of adequate work experience. I plan to reflect on the things I've understood from personal research and even reference literature and notes I've made myself from my own independent research. Research is mentioned as a criterion for medical personal statements but barely any schools put an emphasis on how crucial it is or how much they take it into account relative to other aspects of the statement like work experience. Was hoping if anyone here could give me some advice regarding that, specifically relevant to any London-based medical schools.
I have a library of articles I've read through over my time researching, put together with my own work where I've shown reflection and understanding of the topics mentioned which I would hope to bring to an interview if successful in the first phase of application. If anyone knows, which med schools in London would be more geared towards valuing pre-med independent research and would be most keen to interview me based on that?
