Further Maths Private candidate.

I would like to register with an exam centre to try to get an A level in further Maths (im over 18), after some research i found out they are quite pricy and need some advice on to how i can do this as cost effectively as i can.

The cost of the exams are roughly £250 (exam fees and admin fees). I don't consider this particularly prohibitively expensive, but is this an issue for you?

If you want me to look into this further, can you let me know your exam board? I can try to look into the exam centre as well if you can provide me a postcode of some kind (doesn't need to be your address, but it helps me locate exam centres near you if I need to use the JCQ website for EdExcel or OCR).

Sure, £250 seems to be cheaper than what I've seen (I've seen upwards of £350-400, mabye I'm not looking in the right places)

I would like to apply under the Edexcel exam board

Postcode is SE12 8PJ

Thank you for reaching out

Exam fee is listed on page 7 of the following: https://qualifications.pearson.com/content/dam/pdf/Support/Fees-for-academic-and-vocational-qualifications/uk-general-qualifications-fees-2023-24.pdf £146.40.
Do also note the deadlines in the above link

Using the following link you should be able to find a link to an external site for exam centres:
https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/support/support-topics/understanding-our-qualifications/where-can-i-take-edexcel-exams.html
https://www.jcq.org.uk/private-candidates/

Unfortunately, the JCQ site is not working at the time of writing for some reason. You will likely need to wait.
As such, I don't know what the admin fee component is.

If the following is any constellation, the following charge £300-£350 for both exam and admin:
https://www.arkexamcentre.co.uk/a-level-exams.html charges
https://www.excelexamcentres.co.uk/prices/
https://www.davidgamecollege.com/237/as-a-level-entries
https://usfl.co.uk/examsfees/
https://www.windsor-forest.ac.uk/about-us/exams/

The following college charges £230
https://www.londonptcollege.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/2023-2024-Exam-Fees.pdf

See a list of centres that accept external candidates:
https://www.oxfordcollege.ac/examination-centres/
https://www.020.co.uk/e/examination-centres/london.shtml

To me, £350 is still very much an affordable price if it's just for one A Level. However, that's just me.

Thank you for all the resources, I will definitely check them out and try the JCQ site when it's back online

£350 isn't a bad per se but I do like to look for cheaper options when I can.

Thanks again
