Are doctors always right?

Especially mental health? Like for example my birth defect and anorexia nervosa have the same symptoms, with my birth defect causing more issues such as constipation when I put on weight, but therapists and psychiatrists and nutritionists in eating disorders would say it's anorexia nervosa and genetics team would say it's my birth defect. It could also be both.
They're not always right but that doesn't necessarily imply they are wrong in this case. I think generally a psychiatrist is going to consider your physical health conditions when making a mental health diagnosis so likely will have factored that into things, if they are aware of it. You can always discuss with them whether it may be a factor or if they had ruled that out in their diagnosis already though.

Of course it would be a factor, it's a growth disorder meaning it impacts my height but it impacts my weight and digestive system on a different level. Even though I wasn't fully diagnosed with the birth defect, I was told I would be fine at a lower BMI (though they still pressured me to get to a normal BMI) because I am short statures and might have the birth defect. Now it's officially confirmed through blood testing.

There's loads of conditions which overlap with symptoms, like ovarian cancer and urinary tract infections and kidney cancer and bladder cancer can have the same symptoms. You can also have kidney infections or sepsis if the urine problem is not treated.

Is your psychiatrist aware the diagnosis of the birth defect has been confirmed via testing? Have those reports been made available to them?

If not ask your specialist for copies of the reports and bring them to your psychiatrist for review.

Physical health drs/nurses (GPs and such) dont have a great deal of training in mental health, and mental health proffessionals dont have a huge lot of training in physical health... but there is usually psycological thoughts to behaviours surrounding things like anorexia that likely wouldnt be caused by your genetic condition. And your thoughts/feelings/beliefs may feed off your genetic condition

No, they are not always right (I cannot say anything about your case, or anyone else's). As a patient you are entitled to a second opinion.

I can't speak on mental health but I can speak on my acne. I was given this treatment that was a strong dosage but it ended up burning and ruining my face even though the symptom's that the doctor said should be normal.
They're not always going to be right so it's important to do ur own research and ask any questions yoou have

i mean for your case esp, no, i was born with a genetic blood disorder that when i have blood tests it makes it look like im seriously anemic when in reality im not, i have the symptoms of mild anemia but thats bc of the blood disorder! and no amount of iron meds can fix it bc its genetic, now every time i get i blood test i need to make sure i tell the doctor/nurse otherwise the results will say im anemic (it has happened before, bc i forgot to tell them XD)

EDIT: best advise try calling your doctors, and see if you could get them all in one room and talking if that makes sense (not necessarily in that way just make sure they are communicating?). it sounds like its being delt with by two different entities that havent met each other and doesnt know that the latter exisits! all factors should be weighted out, and it shouldnt be put on your shoulders to do so!

It is always a good idea to visit few specialists and get few opinions. Many times those opinions can be different, so no need to rush when it comes to your health. Few weeks ago i visited a doctor which said that i might need a hearing aids cause my hearing became much worse. Guess what, I visited Audiology Island https://audiologyisland.com/ and the problem was solved in few minutes only.

I can't diagnose you, but I believe that every patient has a right to a second opinion. I also believe that the medical service is independent and that the only responsbility that a patient has is to get well. The doctor's only job consists in fascilitating that. He does not represent third parties.
