okay this may be a dumb question but if i apply for a joint honours degree instead of like a regular undergrad (i.e politics with french instead of just politics) - are those like two completely different courses with a select amount of applicants for each course or is it just the same, just wanting to know if that boosted your ability to get in

Clearing and Applications Advisor

It depends on how each university operates targets and the department/faculty that “owns” admissions for each course.

Generally applying for combined honours courses won’t boost your chances of an offer but there are a small number of exceptions.
