Gap year to do chemistry a level privately

I'm thinking about doing a gap year to study for A level Chemistry and take the exam privately because I want to do pharmacy but I didn't do chemistry at A level so :/ is this a good idea or?

Potentially. Check the entry requirements for the unis to which you'd want to apply. Do they require that you pass the practical endorsement for qualifications that include it - like Chemistry A level? (Some don't, or don't for private candidates.)

If they do, then consider the International A level instead, as that doesn't include a practical endorsement. (Arranging all the practicals for the endorsement is expensive and a hassle; so if you can avoid it you probably should.)
