Renting in London using maintenance loan while going uni in Liverpool

I'll be going into my 3rd year at university in Liverpool but my mum has kicked me out back home and I have nowhere to live off season plus I am only in university 2/3 times a week and all the material is online.

Is it possible to rent somewhere in London and retain my maintenance loan from student finance etc.

Yes it is possible but it will be a lot cheaper to rent in Liverpool.

I do that now but I come back to London every 2nd weekend which is about £30 return each time on Northwestern Railway w/ railcard (even with that it's still slightly cheaper probably but), that on its own is a headache knowing where I'm going to go a lot of the time and it's such a headache getting temporary short-term rental from May to September just to go again rather than something more permanent.

I'm not sure I'll think about it..
