Working more than contracted hours while at uni
I’m a full time uni student and whilst I am on my christmas break now I still have assignments to work on. I have been given 53 hours at work between 22nd-29th dec with only christmas day off. I have assignments due at the beginning of january which i now don’t have a lot of time for. I also have anxiety which affects my ability to work long hours/ too many hours per week which my manager is aware of. I am also on an 8 hour contract Is it unreasonable to ask for reduced hours?

It’s not unreasonable to ask for less hours, however in terms of contracted hours they are usually the minimum hours, it is very common to work more than your contracted hours.
