Student finance account hacked

Basically I got a text message a few days ago saying my sf bank details weren’t up to date so I clicked the link and it brought me to the student finance login so I thought it was legit and didn’t think anything else of it. Today I got an email saying the bank details have been changed and I can’t change them back as I don’t know the sort code/ account number. Student finance helpline are closed till the 27th so I’m not sure what to do and am slightly panicking about it. What should I do??

Did you get a genuine text from SLC asking you to confirm the change to your bank details? You should be able to change your banking details in your online account. You need to report this to SLC’s Financial Crime Prevention Unit immediately by emailing [email protected] or calling the dedicated hotline on 0300 100 0059.
