Mature student needing advice on writing my personal statement for uni.
I'm 24 years old and keen on getting back into education and applying for university soon, however, I am having trouble on my personal statement.
It's quite a daunting task and I'm not sure where to begin. Are there any particular things I can talk about besides school that can be of value?
Any advice or tips would be really appreciated.

What you do outside of school that is particularly relevant to the subject that you intend to study would be a good start. This would include relevant clubs, magazines, reading, visits, publications that you wrote about, side projects, awards.
UK universities (as far as I know) aren't particularly concerned about well rounded applicants for most of their degrees (unless they specify this in the degree course page). They are looking more for specialists who are passionate about the subject that they intend to study e.g. if you're applying for physics focus less writing about your sports awards and more about the magazines and books you read, the relevant places you have been, computer models simulating certain physics experiments, etc.

Just write about the wider reading and such that you've done to explore your subject area and engage with it outside of formal academic programmes
